INVERSO SALON

The Identity

It was during a dinner with friends that the idea for InVerso was born. The conversation topic was the work of Alexandra Costa and Helena Assunção. Both were sharing experiences and dreaming of doing something different. It was then that the challenge was posed: “How about opening your own salon?” The idea came from their husbands, and although it initially seemed crazy—since both were working at different hair salons in the region—they quickly began to sketch out plans that would eventually lead to the realization of a dream they both cherished.

The idea lingered in the air, and with the support of their husbands, the first steps were taken the following day. They immediately looked into the conditions of the space where InVerso is now located, and there was no turning back… Alexandra and Helena’s dream would become a reality. Although they had never worked together and were apprehensive that something might go wrong, the two hairstylists took on the challenge of creating the identity of InVerso – Hair & Beauty Salon. At the ages of 36 and 31, they opened the doors and inaugurated their hair salon on November 21, 2016.

Today, the feeling is one of a challenge overcome, and InVerso – Hair & Beauty Salon continues to welcome clients in Gouveia, serving all those who believe in and nurture this project every day.

MUTUAL IDENTITY

The journey taken by both Alexandra and Helena, which shapes the identity of InVerso, has been exciting and rewarding—a true discovery of affinities from the very beginning.

Every step they took has been an adventure, such as the family trip to Porto, where they visited a specialized fair and acquired much of the necessary equipment and tools for the salon. To this day, their children jokingly say they won’t go back to Porto for shopping! They proudly admit that every detail was, and will always be, carefully considered together.

Their commitment to quality led them to partner with the haircare brand Cotril. The brand’s representative places a strong emphasis on training, ensuring its partners receive all the support needed to provide the best for their clients.

Dynamic, kind, and professional service are the cornerstones of InVerso, attracting many locals and beyond. Many clients come with references about the hairstylists’ work, which is undoubtedly a point of pride and provides the motivation necessary to continuously improve and maintain the high standards of service in a thoughtful and personalized manner, from the initial consultation to the final result in a relaxed atmosphere.

InVerso: The Name

Nothing was left to chance, and even the name chosen for the salon was carefully thought out to honor someone dear to them.
In Fontanelas and Gouveia, each street bears names inspired by the verses of José Valentim Lourenço, a beloved figure whom they had the honor and privilege of knowing and performing with in theater. It is with deep emotion and pride that they admit this name is also a tribute to someone who left them with many fond memories.
But could InVerso also symbolize the opposite?
“Indeed, people leave in the opposite state of how they entered,” emphasizes Alexandra.
“Exactly… Because life, in many ways, is the opposite of what we expect,” reflects Helena. In fact, “for us, it’s the opposite of where we were,” they both agree, speaking about the success of InVerso – Hair & Beauty Salon, a business that grows at the pace of their friendship.
